Play Dough Letters
Grade Level(s): Preschool
By: CS

Have the children use the play dough to replicate letters on laminated paper.

Objectives:

To allow children to experiment with letter shapes

Materials:

laminated paper
play dough

Plan:

  1. Draw large letters on a sheet of paper
  2. Make enough of each child to have a sheet for paper.
  3. Laminate the paper.
  4. Give children the laminated paper and a small clump of play dough.
  5. Encourage them to cover the letters with the play dough.

Comments:

Smaller children like to tear off small pieces of play dough and push them on the paper. Older children will "make snakes" in the shape of letters.
