Plan: We used this with our Ocean theme in summer school. It certainly adds to the ocean theme, but there's also a lot to be learned about sharing. The day we read the book we wore enough silver scales (mylar stickers or sequins) for each child. When the children would ask about them, we played the part of the Rainbow Fish, saying something like, "Aren't they beautiful.. they're all mine.." If you play it up right before story time, the kids start asking for the scales after you read the book. The teacher finally shares after the children explain why you should. |
