Apple Life Cycle Worksheet Printable Pages

These Apple Life Cycle Printables include a life cycle diagram and activities for practicing and reviewing six stages of the apple life cycle: seed, sprout, seedling, tree, flower, and apple. Students can identify the stages, put them in order, practice writing the vocabulary words, and complete a cut-and-paste sequencing activity.
The PDF has three pages. Pages 1 and 2 show the same labeled apple life cycle diagram, with six numbered lines below for writing the stages in order. On page 1, every stage word is ready to trace. On page 2, only “seed” is traced, and the other five lines are blank. Page 3 is a cut-and-paste page: children color six picture cards, cut them out and glue each one into its labeled box on the cycle.

Ways to use it
- Start with a real apple: Cut an apple open, find the seeds and talk about what a seed needs to grow before looking at the diagram.
- Choose the right page: Use page 1 with beginning writers and page 2 with children who can copy the words from the diagram.
- Check understanding: Use the cut-and-paste page to see whether children can put the stages in order on their own.
- Act it out: Have children curl up as a seed, then sprout, grow into a tree, bloom and hold up an apple as you name each stage.
- Seasons talk: Talk about how apple trees flower in the spring and apples are ready to pick in late summer and fall.
- Science journal: Add finished pages to a science notebook or folder during an apple, plant or fall unit.
