Ways to use it

  • Easy to harder: Start with page 1’s straight and slanted lines, then move to page 2’s curves and loops.
  • Finger first: Have children trace each line with a finger before using a pencil or crayon.
  • Rainbow tracing: Trace each dotted line several times, using a different color crayon each time.
  • Reusable practice: Slip the pages into sheet protectors and use dry-erase markers at a center.
  • Letter A: After tracing the big apple on page 3, have children name other words that begin with the /a/ sound.
  • Color when done: Let children color the apples red, yellow or green after they finish tracing.
